On January 15th, YouTuber Markiplier uploaded a Let's Play video for the game, garnering more than 3.1 million views and 25,300 comments over the next two weeks (shown below, right). They can lay eggs and are able to see very well in the dark, despite being afraid of it, which is a common feature among Tattletails. On January 10th, YouTuber cr1tikal posted narrated footage of the game (shown below, left). The game's backstory indicates that the yellow and blue Talking Tattletails are toys that were made for children in 1998. On December 29th, 2016, the /r/Tattletail subreddit was launched for discussions about the game. That day, the official trailer for the game was released (shown below). On December 28th, the game was officially released on Steam for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS systems. A Mama Tattletail toy must be avoided, which will attack the player if they make too much noise in the toy's immediate vicinity. ![]() The game is set during Christmas in 1998 in a large house, in which the player must take care of a Baby Talking Tattletail toy and complete various objectives before going to bed each night.
